Installation Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)


INSTALLATION UBUNTU 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

Just a wrote that one of the Linux operating system the most popular flavor of Ubuntu has released Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Long-Term Support) aka Lucid Lynx. 10:04 This version will have support for 3 years.

On Ubuntu 10.04 is added to the various features, such as booting speed, integration and other social networks.


Starting 29 April 2010, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS we can already download from the Ubuntu website. Here are some features or stuff on Ubuntu 10.04 :
  • Boot Speed, now booting ubuntu is faster in almost all computers including netbooks.
  • Integration of social networks, with a new menu 'Me Menu'. Like Facebook, Digg, Twitte and Identi.ca. Also included Google Talk, MSN, IRC and others.
  • Ubuntu One, improved desktop integration for online services, files and folders can be shared and stored in the "cloud" more easily.
  • Ubuntu One Music Store
  • Ubuntu Software Center 2.0, an easy way to find new software. As well as various other software-related     menu.
  • Ubuntu Netbook Edition 10.4 (UNE), is very appropriate to be installed on a netbook with SSD speed improvements in the media.

And now I will explain the steps Installing Ubuntu

  • The first step is to prepare the Ubuntu CD and boot from the bios settings so that the initial boot from the CD-ROM


      • In this menu you have to choose between making the partitions automatically or manually,here I am going to make partitioning in manual.HDD I gunanakan is 10GB and 512MB memory, here I will make the partition as follows:
      • • root (/): 5000MB (primary)
      • • Boot: 500MB (logical)
      • • Swap: 1024MB (2x memory) (Logical)
      • • Home: 4000MB (Logical).


      • Once finished creating the partition menu will appear to make a ubuntu user and password, fill in accordance with the data you want and then Forward.

      • After that the menu will appear Ready to Install, click install.

      • After the PC has completed the restart ubuntu installed and ready for use.
